The Ulster County District Attorney’s Office is seeking qualified, dedicated, and dynamic attorneys, with 2 or more years of recent experience in New York criminal law practice, to join its high-impact public service office in the pursuit of its commitment to community safety and Justice for All.

Available openings require interest in courtroom litigation and associated practices, with opportunity to prosecute felony cases of diverse degrees and complexity. Specialization in any area is not required but is welcome. Provides opportunity to thrive professionally and work collaboratively with lawyers and staff who bring exceptional personal and professional qualities and experiences. Vertical prosecution is standard practice, with second seat and training opportunities for all.

Requirements: Must be admitted and in good standing to practice law in the State of New York with 2 or more years of recent experience in criminal law practice in New York State.  Experience prosecuting domestic violence and special victims cases is a plus.  Standard research and writing skills, oral presentations, argument, and motions practice are necessary. Grand jury practice and experience evaluating felony cases are required. Prior defense or prosecutorial experience under CPL 245 is essential.  Residency within Ulster County is required, with reasonable time to relocate if necessary. All prospective employees must undergo security clearance.
